Subject-specific Data Literacy Education
The subject-specific data literacy education sub-project is aimed at a subject-specific student body, either in one subject or in several related subjects. The aim of the teaching lab projects is to promote the internal discourse on data literacy, to develop new teaching formats, content and concepts and to establish "good practices" at department and/or faculty level in order to anchor the topic in the curriculum in the long term.
The DDLitLab supports the projects primarily in terms of organization and evaluation. To this end, needs-based formats of exchange and networking between the teaching lab fellows are developed and an interdisciplinary focus is set. In exchange with committees and quality circles, discussions are sought at department and faculty level in order to integrate data literacy education into future curricula.
With our data literacy repository, we also want to offer all existing and future teaching projects and interested parties a guide to help them plan subject-specific implementation projects relating to data literacy. Initially, references to impulses in research and teaching within the individual disciplines - sorted by subject/faculty - will be provided here and "good practices" and their documentation will also be made available in the course of the project. The collection is intended to serve as inspiration for teachers of all subjects.
In an empirical study on the subject perspectives on data literacy education, we were also able to identify the different understandings of data literacy in the individual subjects through interviews with university lecturers from various subjects and also provide these as orientation below.
