AI hands-on: Teaching examples of generative AI at the University of Hamburg
Since the end of last year at the latest, generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Co. have been raising many questions (not only) at Universität Hamburg - from the fundamental goals of higher education to specific aspects of examination law. Following on from the information and discussion event on ChatGPT in January 2023, the DDLitLab together with the HUL is organizing an event on the concrete use of generative AI tools in teaching on Wednesday, 05.07.2023 from 14.15-17.15 in Jungiusstraße 9, Hörsaal III.
Together we want to explore the questions of how and for what purposes AI is already being used in various disciplines. How does this work in practice and what can others learn from it? The discussion should move away from fundamental questions about how it works and long-term scenarios and instead focus more specifically on the here and now.
To this end, lecturers from various faculties will first present their use of generative AI tools in teaching. Based on these practical examples and through the joint exchange, we would like to develop ideas for further network and event formats on generative AI at our university. The event will be recorded and made available on Lecture2Go afterwards.
